The National March for Music Therapy is this coming Sunday!

Just a reminder that this coming Sunday (March 30), MTSA is bringing you an amazing day filled with music and excitement to celebrate national music therapy awareness month!

Wilfrid Laurier University is representing Waterloo as one of the 14 cities participating in this national event!

Activities Include:

Song writing, improvising, a swag giveaway, FREE Snacks at the Quad, FREE Coffee at Waterloo Town Square, FREE Appetizers at Wilf’s (the Den), and MTSA’s annual spring Open Mic.

5:30-6:00 – Meet at the Quad.  Free swag giveaway and SNACKS PROVIDED, courtesy of Veritas Cafe

6:00-6:20 – Leave Quad and start the March to Waterloo Town Square

6:20-7:30 – Songwriting, Improvising, and Music Therapy awareness for the public!  FREE COFFEE, courtesy of Coffee Culture

7:30-8:00 – Group Gathering and March back to Laurier

8:00-9:00 – FREE APPETIZERS & social mingling at the Den (above Wilf’s)

9:00 – MTSA’s Spring Open Mic at Wilf’s!

This is the first ever March for Music Therapy.  Opportunities for pledges will be available throughout the day.  All funds will go directly to the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund (, a not-for-profit charity dedicated to making Music Therapy available to more people in more communities across Canada.


If you plan to participate in the March, please make sure you stop by the registration table when you arrive and fill out the waiver form.

About Laurier MTSA

We are a student association at Wilfrid Laurier University and most of our members are students in the Music Therapy program. We exist to educate about, promote, and support the work of music therapy, and to support the academic, career, and personal needs of the Music Therapy Students. Our mandate is to unite prospective, current and alumni students while promoting our profession in the larger community.
