Placement Instruments: Fundraising Success!

President Danielle Robert with the newest editions to the instrument room

All of our instruments for use in Music Therapy Placements across the Kitchener-Waterloo Community are finally purchased and in their rightful home in the Instrument Room.  MTSA raised over $1200 this year in fundraising efforts from events including the Craft Fair, Valentine’s Day bake sale, Fall Coffeehouse, and the March for Music Therapy.  From that money, $300 was spent on new instruments and organizational material for those instruments in the placement instrument room.

Below are pictures of the instruments that were purchased this year:

“Little Nel”, our baby ukulele!

***Special thanks to Len McCarthy for tuning and “training” Little Nel!***

1 Octave Set of BoomWhackers and Octavator Caps to lower their pitch by an octave

16″ Ocean Drum

16″ Crystal Rainstick

Hand Chimes

Thank you again to everyone who participated in the fundraising, decision and purchasing of the instruments, and organization of the instrument room.  It is looking fabulous.  Here are some pictures of our current beautifully organized instrument haven.

The view from the door, including our inspiring quote above the window. “Music can change the world, because it can change people.” – Bono

The drum wall – a great way to use the wall space and see all your options! Also the keyboards, hand chimes, small drums, and drum mallets.

The xylophone/marimba table and bookshelf with the resonator bars and resource library.

The little cabinet with all the smaller instruments: handbells, agogos, maracas, bells, cabasas, chimes, cymbals, etc.
