MSRC is a council of students from each stream of the music faculty that act as a liaison between students and faculty in regards to academic matters. Additionally, MSRC can be used as a liaison between student groups/clubs associated with the Faculty of Music, including the MA, SAME, MTSA, and CIA.
The MSRC constitution describes the purpose of the council as the following:
MSRC serves as an academic resource for all students of the Faculty of Music,
- by providing methods for them to be made aware of changes to the program.
- by providing methods for them to provide feedback to Faculty administrators.
- by providing methods to raise awareness of issues in the Faculty of Music.
- by providing an archive of meetings, changes, and events in the Faculty of Music.
